Kristi Henrick made her vocal debut at the age of 8 in a friend’s attic with a weight bench as a stage and a rolled up telephone cord hanging from the ceiling as a microphone. Singing along to some of her childhood influences (Whitney Houston, Judy Garland, Mariah Carey, Patty Smyth, Bonnie Raitt...) she discovered her love for voice. In her early twenties, after overcoming years of stage fright, she began to regularly sing karaoke and attend local open mics where she built her confidence in front of a crowd. After taking a brief hiatus to attend Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing, Kristi officially entered the local cover band scene in 2009 as a lead singer.
With extensive experience as a performer, education through private voice lessons and a career as a registered nurse at an elementary school, Kristi has gained valuable knowledge of both educational and vocal techniques including: breath control and support, tone production and resonance, pitch control, blending vocal registers, stage performance, and vocal health and hygiene. Learning that she has the ability to teach, inspire and encourage students to realize their fullest potential as learners, vocalists and performers while cultivating appreciation for one’s unique strengths and talents as such has been one of Kristi’s most valued achievements.
Kristi can currently be spotted performing as frontwoman, “Kristi Love”, of The Pop Rocks, a highly successful 80’s tribute band or making acoustic performances and guest appearances with various veteran musicians and bands.
